Erin Beato, MA, LLP, PC

I completed my education at Wayne State University in December of 2005, earning a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Psychology. During my academic experience at Wayne State University, I received comprehensive training and specific instruction in evidence-based treatment approaches. Additionally, I had the opportunity to apply theory and therapeutic techniques for cognitive, behavioral and interpersonal psychotherapy interventions, which equipped me with the skills necessary to provide service to both the adolescent and adult populations.

Prior to establishing a private practice in December of 2014, I was employed by St. John Providence Eastwood Clinics working as a Clinical Therapist where I further developed and refined my clinical skills. Throughout my 9 years of work at the clinic, I had the opportunity and privilege to provide individual therapy, marital/couples therapy and family therapy to people struggling with mild to severe psychological/emotional stressors, helping them to work through pain and achieve a more satisfying and fulfilling way of life. Working for a behavioral health organization helped me to create a solid professional foundation and prepared me for what it takes to work as an independent practitioner in a private practice setting.

Another important focus of my work is related to couples who experience emotional turmoil and strain on their relationship after being diagnosed with infertility. A relationship can become vulnerable when a couple is unable to conceive. I work with couples to help them cope with the pain of being unable to conceive and to help them maintain their emotional bond throughout their journey of infertility.

My husband and I have been together for 20 years, married for 18 years, and together we are raising a child. As a therapist I draw on all of my personal and professional experiences to provide an empathic, supportive, collaborative and research-oriented approach to therapy. With my knowledge and experience, I operate under the principle that no two people are alike, thereby providing individually tailored and scientifically derived treatments for each and every one of my clients.
